Discipline
Classroom discipline is, basically, an educational philosophy. Each teacher adjusts their discipline to meet his/her needs and those of the children they teach. It is a philosophy of mine that each child has the opportunity to express himself/herself individually as long as it does not negatively affect fellow students. (An overall theme for my classroom management is "No one interferes with learning, and no one interferes with teaching.") I believe in a positive discipline approach that promotes a positive classroom environment. The idea is to teach children respect, self-discipline, and personal responsibility. A part of this approach is that there must be specific guidelines and consequences.
